Traditional electric covers the units that look like a fireplace rather than a light strip: log-style fireboxes, mantel-ready formats, and inserts that drop into an existing opening. It is the answer when you want the classic look but venting or a gas line is not on the table.

A common use we like
If you have a masonry fireplace whose chimney is no longer safe or worth relining, a traditional electric insert puts a live-looking fire back into the opening for a fraction of the cost of a full conversion, with no venting work at all. It is one of the tidiest fixes for a dead fireplace in an older Toronto home.
