Dimplex
The electric specialist. Dimplex's Optimyst units use real water vapour to imitate flame, and nothing in the range needs venting or a gas line.

electric
Dimplex is the brand that made electric fireplaces worth taking seriously. If you have seen an electric fire that made you look twice, it was probably an Optimyst: instead of lighting up moulded plastic, it lifts a fine water mist and lights it from below, so the flame has real movement and depth. It is the most convincing electric effect we sell.
What we stock
The Optimyst line (including the 500 Cassette and the Optimyst Pro firebox) is the flagship. Below that, the RBF and BF built-in fireboxes, the e-MatriX and the DFI inserts cover the more conventional LED-flame formats at friendlier prices. All of it lives in our electric collection.
Who it suits
Electric is the answer whenever venting is impossible or the budget will not carry a gas line, which is why Dimplex dominates our condo installs. It plugs in, produces no combustion, and can run flame-only with no heat in summer. Our Toronto condo guide covers why that matters, and the gas vs electric comparison is honest about what you give up on heat.
We sell, install and service Dimplex across Toronto and the GTA, including units we did not supply. See our installation, maintenance and repair services, or visit the showroom to see what is burning.
Frequently asked questions
Optimyst is Dimplex's water-vapour flame technology. It produces a fine mist and lights it from below, so the effect has genuine movement and depth rather than the flat look of a printed or moulded LED flame. It is the most realistic electric effect we carry.
No. There is no combustion, so no venting, no chimney and no gas line. That is what makes them the default choice in Toronto condos and any room where a vent run is not possible.
Yes, most include a heater of roughly 1.5 kW, which is enough to warm a condo-scale room, and it runs on a thermostat. You can also run the flame effect with the heat switched off.
