What is a gas fireplace insert?

A gas insert is a sealed gas fireplace built to fit inside an existing wood-burning fireplace. It vents through a liner in your chimney and turns an old, drafty open hearth into an efficient, controllable heat source. The fireplace you already have provides the opening; the insert provides the performance.

Why Toronto homeowners convert to gas

A traditional open masonry fireplace sends most of its heat up the chimney, and it pulls warm air out of the house even when it is not burning. A modern gas insert changes the math completely: strong, consistent heat at the push of a button, no wood to haul or ash to clean, and a sealed combustion system that keeps indoor air cleaner. Sizing and installation

Inserts come in a range of sizes to suit different firebox openings, and correct sizing matters for both fit and heat output. We measure the width, height and depth of your existing fireplace, recommend models that fit, and handle the full installation: the chimney liner, the gas line, and the surround panels that give the finished look. Every installation is completed by licensed gas technicians and done to code.
